Parsons Green by Sophie Delila

Why Parsons Green?

Parsons Green is actually quite green! It’s a healthy and rather clean environment. I think that’s very nice and probably one of my favorite aspects of it. It’s cute, and the amount of little indie shops make the charm of it. There are only a couple of ‘corporate’ brand names, but besides that it’s mainly indie – and you can find everything you need. Let’s hope it stays that way!
There are also a lot of recording studios, so lots of music people around which makes it even better for me, and makes it a great creative environment as well.

What is your favorite restaurants?

The first one is Sukho Thai on Fulham rd. Divine. The second one is, believe it or not, a kebab place! But it’s not like any other kebab shops. It’s a very healthy one, even Jamie Oliver thinks so… It’s called Kebab Kid.
My local pub The White Horse has an amazing kitchen. And finally, Manson on Fulham Rd has an amazing and ever changing menu.

The best location for a date ?

If it’s sunny I would think a lunch or drinks or ice cream (or all) on the green could be nice for a daytime date.
Mao Thai on New Kings Rd is nice at night, a bit noisy on weekends, which could be good, depending on the date… 🙂 Nice cocktails, too.
Although there is a great amount of pubs, bar and restaurants, night life in Parsons Green is busy yet conventional. Maybe because it’s very residential, it’s still quiet in terms of actual “entertainment” (theaters, clubs music venues, or arty lounges and bars for example).
I like going out to gigs, theaters, galleries, etc. But I probably have the wrong idea of a date anyway… I never liked “dating” really 🙂

Favorite pub?

The White Horse.

The champagne bar Amuse Bouche is fun too.

What’s your favorite coffee shop?

In Parsons Green my favorite one is Di’zain and I also like Del Aziz on Fulham Broadway.

A secret place?

Does anyone ever answer that one?

Favorite shops?

Not only the following are my local favorites, but I think I would come all the way here to visit them if I lived elsewhere.
Way of Therapy, best massages ever!
Power Yoga Company, love their classes.
Deuxieme, best place for vintage/secondhand clothing.
And of course, The French House in front of Parsons Green Tube. Best vintage furniture. Basically almost any furniture I own comes from there…

Any funny anecdote?

Ah, I don’t have a specific one that comes to mind! But there’s always plenty of funny things going on in P Green, as we like to call it….
